Learn Vietnamese

What is Learn Vietnamese (learnviet.co)?

Learn Vietnamese is an online language-learning marketplace that connects learners worldwide with vetted native Vietnamese tutors for personalized 1-on-1 video lessons. Instead of gamified, one-size-fits-all apps, it pairs you with a real teacher who adapts to your goals — travel, family, business, or pronunciation.

How it works

1. Browse tutors — filter by price or specialty, read bios, check availability.
2. Book a free intro — a 30-minute session with no payment or commitment.
3. Start learning — join via the built-in video platform, subscribe after your first lesson.

Key features

• Vetted native Vietnamese speakers, priced from $10/lesson (up to about $20)
• Scheduled 45-minute lessons, tutor messaging, and shared documents for notes
• Flexible subscriptions with unused credits that roll over for 30 days
• Switch tutors anytime, with no penalties
• Monthly cost calculator based on lessons per week and average tutor rate
• Secure Stripe payments and GDPR-compliant data handling

For tutors

Native Vietnamese speakers can apply to teach, upload an intro video, and earn 60% of lesson fees paid directly via Stripe. The platform handles scheduling, video hosting, payments, disputes and support.

Learn Vietnamese targets learners who want real conversation practice and cultural context — notably filling a gap, since Duolingo doesn't currently offer Vietnamese for English speakers.
